Thandii - Alkaline

Left-field pop artist Thandii seems to be getting support from all the right places of late, scooping up plays from the BBC's Huw Stephens and earning praise from the Line of Best Fit. And rightly so.

Thandii's sound is a trippy psychedelic take on pop made up of interweaving progressive electronic elements and smooth vocals with the viscosity of honey. Her latest Kaleidoscopic offering 'Alkaline' delivers big time, with hypnotic repeated phrases guaranteed to leave the listener mesmerised.

And while we're not quite sure if this is a deliberate reference from the pop artist based in the old English coastal resort of Margate; we at Earthly Pleasures certainly appreciated the subtle keyboard sounds harking back to the classic Wurlitzer organ sounds of the British Music Hall. FYI we do like to be beside the seaside.
