Beatrix Sky - 'Love Drug'

As 2018 draws to a close I've been looking for the perfect swan song to play as the credits roll on what has been an incredible year for music. Cue the perfectly hazy-dream-pop sound of Beatrix Sky's latest single 'Love Drug'

As the title would suggest, this dark pop song exudes a strong druggy atmosphere. As Beatrix Sky's lethargic vocals amble sleepily at the slow simmering pace of the hissing ride cymbal and drawling organ the song is invested with a  decidedly ethereal quality.

 It's a melodic track, but with a strange foreshadowing quality thanks to the long sustained chords and repeated refrains. Thoughtful, reflective and bittersweet, it's a beautiful track which stands up to repeated listens.
