Imogen - ‘White Lines’

Wistful, and overcast in its palate, there's also something deeply compelling to the contemplative, intelligent pop music of London based artist Imogen.

Her latest single 'White Lines', is a progressive take on the emotional ballad; It's instrumentation and composition deliberately fractured, or at odds with itself. In 'White Lines' the drops, and odd bouts of electronics or overdriven guitar are of course conflicted, but so is the narrating personae of its lyrics. What unites these disparate fragments is the vocal, a half spoken, measured exposition, that cannot fail but move.
